This year, the annual party hosted by the Rockin' The Suburbs Podcast is taking us down to Knoxville, Tennessee from July 30th through August 1st.

While we know many of our local family won't be making the trip with us, we wanted to share why this festival has become such a massive piece of the Frank Muffin DNA. We have the honor of being the primary band that returns year after year to hang out with this incredible community of music lovers. It’s a weekend completely dedicated to celebrating independent artists, and honestly, it is some of the most fun we have all year.

The festival gives us the perfect chance to balance the two things we love most: letting loose with total silliness, and sharing the music we pour our hearts into. On Friday, July 31st, we are hosting Live Band Karaoke at the Tennessee Tap House. It is always a goofy, high-energy night where we get to act as the backing track while festival attendees jump on stage to live out their rock 'n' roll dreams.

But right alongside that fun, Suburbs Fest gives independent artists an important platform for original music. On Saturday afternoon, hanging out with Jim & Patrick for a live podcast recording and performances by artists local to the Knoxville area at the Corner Lounge. Later that evening, we’ll take the same stage alongside Quartjar and Matty C. for the Live Music Showcase, where we get to plug in and share our own songs with an audience that truly values original art.

Even cooler? We are using this trip to hand-deliver advance vinyl pre-orders of our upcoming album, Steel City Sunset, directly to the festival crew! We'll also have the brand-new t-shirts we made specifically for this release ready to pass out. We'll begin shipping out the rest of the pre-orders once we get back home and recover from the trip.

Ultimately, weekends like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. We get to travel, create, and share independent music because we have an unbelievably awesome community of people excited to support us.
