Rattlin' Pans
Updated: Sep 3, 2020
I don’t know if I should admit this...but...I wrote this about 3 years before Nirvana’s Nevermind came out. I mean, we both loved Pixies, so it’s not a stretch...just sayin’
Looking back in time—a memory faintly whines
But still we move along—just fine
But if we’d say—how things got in our way
Would that somehow make everything ok?
You were there—I was waiting
Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds
Rattlin’ pans
All in all—my back put to the wall
We’d rather swing away—than fall
When once again—a means leads to an end
Will you stand to answer the call?
You were there—I was waiting
Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds
Rattlin’ pans
So we gather ‘round—upright and above ground
We still struggle to harness the sound
When you spoke—tell me did you choke?
A silent synergy—I can’t speak if you can’t speak
You were there—I was waiting
Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds
Rattlin’ pans
