Rattlin' Pans

Updated: Sep 3

I don’t know if I should admit this...but...I wrote this about 3 years before Nirvana’s Nevermind came out. I mean, we both loved Pixies, so it’s not a stretch...just sayin’

Looking back in time—a memory faintly whines

But still we move along—just fine

But if we’d say—how things got in our way

Would that somehow make everything ok?

You were there—I was waiting

Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds

Rattlin’ pans

All in all—my back put to the wall

We’d rather swing away—than fall

When once again—a means leads to an end

Will you stand to answer the call?

You were there—I was waiting

Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds

Rattlin’ pans

So we gather ‘round—upright and above ground

We still struggle to harness the sound

When you spoke—tell me did you choke?

A silent synergy—I can’t speak if you can’t speak

You were there—I was waiting

Standing strong—with my head up in the clouds

Rattlin’ pans

Ten steps to a new life—but I walked them backwards. Does that mean I have an old one?

Ain't Hit Bottom Yet

It may be wild and reckless, and it may be a risky bet. So when the end seems near, you can shed your fear. ‘Cause I ain’t hit bottom yet.
