One More Night
Updated: Sep 3, 2020
Fond memory: I wrote this song right after returning from my honeymoon. Not so fond memory: I wrote it in my truck with an annoyed cat in tow, because I was flea bombing the house that had been overrun while we were in Curaçao.
Sunday morning—it’s six am
I had no idea—wouldn’t be the same again
The sequel to—a feast of friends
Going to spread these wings, gonna find myself a little Zen—now
Feels like a dream—almost can’t describe it
Fire in the sea—how I delight in it
It’s all clear to me now—I won’t come home the same
To spend one more night in Curaçao
More than the fates would allow
I swear I will return to you somehow
I’m just a memory to you now
One more tide—I’ll just dive in
With no regard—if I can swim
Stay the course—parry the wind
I’m on my way—to you again
To spend one more night in Curaçao
More than the fates would allow
I swear I will return to you somehow
I’m just a memory to you now
